The governor is most likely pointing out exactly why the Texas law can't stand. Based on the comments the last time the SCOTUS examined this, they also see the problem that Newsom is bringing to the forefront of conservative consciousness.

The last time Justice Scalia is the one who turned the tables. You know, the justice who died at a SECERT GUN SOCIETY MEETING. They even wore robes and carried ceremonial daggers. And this is a; no shit sherlock thing. It's the absolute truth. So, let's not even say he was biased. LOL!!!

LOL!! What's good for the fascist goose should also be good for the rest of America. We will see what happens. This is just another chapter as the GOP continues it's drive to Balkanize America to destroy our federal government. Evidently they don't care that we had a civil war over this junk once.

This is all for nothing as the Texas law will be overturned soon enough. Constitutional rights are not something that can be easily changed, and whether the rest of my party wants to admit it or not ... no one is coming for our guns... Newsom, I think, is just saying this to point out the hypocrisy of the law and honestly, IMO, how each party has been acting the last 12 or so years... more of the same; would be great if we could actually spend time getting needed legislation passed ...

SrA John Monette - I do.. I always scratch my head at that thought. I am a conservatives, one might say a republican, but not once in my 40 years on this earth did I every worry someone was coming to take my guns... people hang on to the stupidest shit... it would be great if both sides could just get back to finding common ground on important issues and moving the country along...

SSG (Join to see) - I used to be a Republican. Now, I don't consider myself either of the major parties. I'm conservative on some issues, liberal on others. Obama was the first time I voted Democrat. Voted Democrat in my recent local election. Repubs been in control too long in my town.

SrA John Monette - That is interesting, I also voted for President Obama (first term) however that was the only time I have voted Dem in my past for a presidential candidate. I honestly see myself as more of a libertarian on most issues ... I would prefer the smallest government possible with the least amount of federal influence on the states... but in a perfect world I would be rich, stand 6'2, 200 lbs. and still have all my hair... LOL

I totally agree with you SGT. I'm just sick of these weapons getting into hand of those who shouldn't have them and the GOP making it a point to let it happen. Really, who needs an assault weapon?? I even just recently saw some congressman flaunting his M-60.
Back in the 70s we joked about these weapons being this available. Well, the GOP and NRA should ask the parents of the dead kids if it's a joke.

FYI, a small government has no power. Only corporations, that can buy a state like the Kochs did to Kochconsin, benefit from this. Which I suspect is the real motive anyway.
