My wife was raised in bourbon country and I live next door to bourbon country these days.
On behalf of all Bourbon makers and drinkers, please do not call Jack Daniels bourbon. It is an affront to actual bourbon.

From the JD web page:
IS JACK DANIEL'S A BOURBON?

Jack Daniel's is not a bourbon - it's a Tennessee Whiskey.

(And I say the same for Jim Beam and Wild Turkey, although those are at least *technically* bourbons.)

If you really like the bourbon taste, try Maker's Mark. It is one of the most readily available (read: mass produced and distributed) bourbons with true quality control. Other higher end bourbons are better, but they get harder to find and much pricier.

Pendleton Whisky, a blended Canadien whisky, is imported into the US by Proximo Spirits, a subsidiary of the Mexican Beverage Conglomerate Becle, S.A.B. de C.V. As far as the taste goes, it's along the line of Crown Royal. Since it's a blend, it doesn't have the un-aged young strait Bourbon gasoline taste (to me). They also make a blend called Director's Reserve, aged 20 years, but at approx. $150 a bottle, I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet. I need to give their 1910 Rye a shot.
