It's the idiot's fault, he brought a knife to a gun fight. Is this where we add a remark regarding Charles Darwin?

You are correct, many people living in other states want the government to tell them how to live and allow criminals more freedoms.

The weapons policies on post make it difficult to be prepared even if off post. These policies not only limit your ability to carry on post but off post if you need to make a trip to post, all travel off post is unarmed. The commercial entities on post lose money because of this as many would rather shop close to home where not treated like children.

SGT Charlie Lee - I really do not understand why DOD does not take the same approach to concealed carry holders as they do motorcycles. It is clear in the Army they do not like bikes and make it an uncomfortable process to be AD and ride. So you want to have your pistol with you on post, you need to do 'X, Y, and Z' to have it. People that want to carry will do this extra training and it is a win win for DOD in that you have soldiers receiving firearms training above and beyond what the military provides and have increased safety on post.
