I drove through this highway in August during a firestorm. We were on my way to Marysville, WA for 20 days of active duty and turning in my TA-50/Army gear prior to retiring. The picture showing the river to the right side of the highway is very quick of the highway is very close to where the bridge was washed out was washed out. I have been in the cities of Kamloops and Merritt . I spent the night in Merritt on the way back to Edmonton. I feel sad for the people and the devastation. Most of you are familiar with highway 5 that goes North from California through the Washington And Canadian borders. The highway still stays number 5 and eventually changes in number and turns into the trans Canada highway that goes East to Edmonton and beyond . I don't think Canada sending military there is going to help much because I don't think they have a core of engineers that can set up a Bailey bridge or some kind of bridge in a short time because we're talking 50 m of roadway are washed out..
