Indeed, but we are at least on the cusp of finding more of these planets on our Neighboring Galaxies..., which means that we will find more in our own Milky Way Galaxy...

Astronomers reported, based on Kepler data, that there could be as many as 40 billion Earth-sized planets orbiting in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars and red dwarfs in the Milky Way alone. About 11 billion of these may be orbiting Sun-like stars. Now multiple that by the number of possible galaxies in the observable universe which is estimated to contain 200 billion to two trillion galaxies - very mind numbing and very humbling. Our existence is but a blink of an eye in the grand scheme of things.
