I had an uncle that was on a ship that went down... He floated in the water for like a whole day and watched some of his friends get eaten by sharks.... but he was fine. He was rescued...

Roosevelt was setting us on the road to destroy fascism. He knew what evil it was. Too bad many don't remember that.

There was actually quite a bit of action going on before Pearl, we were providing materials, ships under lend lease, and escort duty. The USCG because of their unique skill set was providing for defense of Iceland and Greenland. They, in fact captured the whaler Buskø attempting to establish a German weather station on Greenland in September of 1941.
