‘How would we know when it was over?’ – Perspective is power in forever wars

We also know when people who do bad things to other people are stopped from doing those bad things, and they are largely powerless to start doing those bad things again.

How would we know when it was over? We know when the people who say there is a certain something that we are not allowed do, can (themselves) do nothing about the thing they say we are not allowed to do.
