While the 2021 story of accidental death by a prop gun is getting media and RP attention, there was a previous incident back in 1993. Brandon Lee (son of late martial artist and actor, Bruce Lee) also died from an on-set accident involving a prop gun while filming "The Crow". His family recently spoke out after learning about the current situation.

This was the very first thing I thought of when I saw the news about Baldwin. In Lee's case, it was a moron hired cheap to be the gun wrangler who was responsible for the negligence, but I don't know if he was ever charged.

Blanks kill. As an old west re-enactor using blanks that we created using black powder and cream of wheat or vermiculite to keep the powder in the slug, it burns off in 10 feet. Thats a safe distance between us during gunfights. It doesn't help that people think that its safe to put a blank gun to your head and pull the trigger. Having a safety officer maintaining control of the action pays off with no accidents.
