A disgusting, but complicated case...
In 2008, a pastor committed statutory rape when he was 24 and living with the family of the victim who was 14. They married at urging of victim's parents due to pregnancy, but relationship disintegrated in 2009. Victim (now an adult) presses charges in 2020 due to inability to gain custody of her teenage daughter. Due to time passed and circumstances, both prosecutors and defense lawyers craft lenient misdemeanor plea deal instead of harsh felony charges.

Yup. I have some extremely religious people in my family. I avoid them as much as possible.
