I applaud this guy for standing up for what he believes in and doing things our flag officers have completely forgotten. That being said, him asking for accountability and being jailed are not linked. He is facing charges because he spoke out publicly. He should have resigned and then made his speech. At least that was how I was taught to express disagreement with senior leadership.

I disagree with his and your opinion, but thumbs up for recognition that any protest should have come AFTER approved resignation, not while still in uniform.

The entire fiasco of Afghanistan and Iraq were a dumpster fire.
First, we were fighting someone who had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11, the culprits left Afghanistan before we even went in there. They were NEVER IN Iraq, I served there twice. As it turned out Bush's administration, through the CIA, KNEW Al Qaida was in Pakistan before Bush made a $3billion support deal to assist with supplying our war in Afghanistan. So, if you want accountability, lets start there.
Second, Trump met with the Taliban, excluded the sitting government and even wanted to invite them to Camp David. Trump set the fire in the dumpster, then left it for someone else to deal with...which he's pretty famous for. He handled the Pandemic the same way.
Biden knew we needed to get out of Afghanistan, we shouldn't have gone in there in the first place. What Obama did in 2011, when we took out Bin Laden was the way this should have been handled from the start.
If Afghanistan wanted the Taliban out, they could have requested our aid. They didn't.
Now, we need to make good on getting our allies out of the danger zone, Trump made that VERY difficult, by adding dozens of hazards in the way of Political asylum seekers, via Stephen Miller.
So, if your Marine officer was attacking the current administration for how this went down, he was wrong. The story, via FOX was probably intentionally vague.
The American people should be asking our leaders, and our elected representatives WTF, that's their job, LTC Scheller may have been acting with honor, I can't tell from the story, but there is a way to handle something like this, a way to question decisions without broadcasting it across Social Media. That is against UCMJ.

1SG Jeffrey Mullett - He didn't serve. President Trump didn't serve.
I can always tell if someone is on solid ground with their arguments when they start throwing around personal insults and attacks on the person they are talking to instead of rationally discussing the arguments, themselves. It shows confidence and intelligence. Yep.

SPC Stiv ChenRobbins - - Wow, you lost before you even typed a word.
Are you aware that only 26% of Republicans currently sitting have ever served? Are you aware that 76% of Democrats HAVE? NO? Not surprising.
You really don't have a clue, so please before you embarrass yourself any further, Stop.

1SG Jeffrey Mullett - I'm sorry, is this a discussion about Democrats vs Republicans, or were we discussing your untrue attacks on President Trump?
Neither, we are just allowing you to vent your bile online and show everyone your true colors. It's okay, I am sure it is therapeutic for you.

SPC Stiv ChenRobbins - Oh yeah, and while we are speaking about untruths: https://news.gallup.com/poll/118684/military-veterans-ages-tend-republican.aspx
Military Veterans of All Ages Tend to Be More Republican
Veterans are more likely to be Republican than are those of comparable ages who are not veterans. This Republican skew among veterans is at least minimally evident across all age groups, from those under 30 who have served in the military to those 80 years of age and older.
