Well, sometimes common sense needs to supersede orders. In the 70's or 80's a Russian officer ignored counter measure protocol when the US performed test launches. If he didn't use common sense then, we may have had a nuclear war over a miscommunication.

Already stated by DoD as being false as Woodward characterized it all, he just went over SOP after a screaming Nancy Pelosi call in which she was characterized as hysterical on the phone (great going Nancy) by General Milley in which he stated he spent some time calming her down and explained to her everything was in Good Hands as far as Nuclear Weapons are concerned. He stated all he did was review SOP with stakeholders which is commonly and periodically done at the DoD, nothing out of ordinary there. Additionally the phone calls alleged by Woodward were nothing of the sort and were recorded with 25 other people in the room. Was never a one on one call to China. Also stated these phone calls are sometimes done under other Presidents to lower the temperature or tension before a military deployment to a region so that dots are not connected inaccurately. This was also mentioned as fairly routine. Last they mentioned the Humane Society issued an alert for rabid Liberals foaming at the mouth running about the country with Trump derangement syndrome.

Just saw an interview in which someone who said she read the full book and the story actually misrepresents the situation and that the book if read fully shows the book also characterizes this as no big deal. Her argument is that anyone that reads the book would reach the same conclusion. She states that excerpts that have been released are incomplete and create a false impression. I would suggest, if she is accurate, this is more political BS attempting to score points among those of us who will never read the book

SP5 Dennis Loberger - And to Gen Milley's defense I can't see anyone with a CIB with three Masters Programs under his belt flying into any kind of panic over Trump. Lots of ignorant other people do but General Milley just based on his experience and education does not strike me as an idiot as these excerpts portray.

MCPO Roger Collins - Foreign Leaders do not like transcripts of their calls being released to the American Press so I can see why that would be rejected.
