What good is it to do after Action reviews and look at history if our elected and appointed civilian leadership and the JCS do not read them or use them at all.
We have the center for Army Lessons Learned but the people in the 'puzzle Palace' of the Pentagon and the DOS' with War College and Masters in Military studies and at the White House don't want to read it because it's all about politics. Now Biden is in the Ford and Carter failure club!
This fallout is not over yet. NATO is upset, our enemies (China, Russia and Iran) are planning to test President Biden's weak resolve.

Why would CRT Miley and Silver Star Austin bother with reading After Action Reports from previous conflicts? They are both obviously more intelligent then previous Commanders and WOULD NEVER MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES

As I’ve stated before, the military and politics make terrible bed partners. When the through-back style of the of the current Army uniform Milley is wearing was in its first iteration there may have been some degree of flirting between the military and political upper echelons but they weren’t bathing in wholesale fornication. Until those dynamics change we will continue to see the destruction from within our own ranks.
