There are all kinds of things going on down there and other countries are not starting to take a keen interest in these events. As we continue reshaping our posture in the Middle East, other super powers will continue arriving with open arms with technology and money to influence the region.

Greetings to all in this thread.
Ref that withdrawal of USA AAD systems from the KSA
May I observe that the Russians -- eventually and subtly -- will come with an attractive offer to their Saudi royal and ministerial/military contacts -- likely passed via their Saudi JV business partners with offices in Riyadh and which enjoy exceptional access to the SA Government -- of the availability, cheap price, and option of expedited delivery of export-versions of corresponding Russian AAD systems, a la the early delivery of self-propelled SAM-6 AAD missile systems to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the 1990s.
IMPO, as a Middle East FAO and long[-time "Gulfie" -- with multiple tours and projects in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and other GCC countries -- that decision to withdraw US AD systems from the kingdom was **not** a smart move and likely may prove counter-productive in several aspects.
