SGT (Join to see) Abrams was a good man, a WWII hero with two Distinguished Service Crosses. His son just retired in July as a four start Command if US Forces in Korea. From when my twin brother and i were about 15 or so until we went in the Army on our 17th birthdays, my brother would write to Abrams in Vietnam and told him that we planned on quitting HS and joining the Army. Abrams always took the time to write tour and would advise us not to quit HS and if you still wanted to jon the Army after you graduated, do so at that time. Its amazing that a general waging a war in Vietnam would take the time to write to us. Over two years we had a couple dozen letter in the four star letter head along with the MACV newsletter. We would wind up in Vietnam a few years later.
