Brazen coyotes terrorise British Columbia park

Authorities in British Columbia, Canada's westernmost province, are planning a cull of coyotes after a spike of canine attacks.
Two children and one man were attacked in Vancouver's scenic Stanley Park on Tuesday night, bringing the number of attacks recorded in the park to 45.
None of the three victims were badly injured, according to the province's conservation officer service.
Stanley Park is now shut to the public overnight in attempt to stop attacks.
The park will now close its doors to visitors at 19:00 local time, and remain closed until 7:00 in the morning.
"The [conservation service] cannot stress enough to avoid Stanley Park, especially during the dawn and dusk hours, when coyotes tend to be more active," the agency wrote on Twitter this week.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel This is not normal for coyotes. They usually are very weary of humans and avoid them at all costs. Coyotes are actually pretty calm animals but they suffer from a bad rap because of one or two attacks but 45. I guess I would find someplace else to camp also!

Wow, such a non-normal behaviror. So many people shoot and kill coyotes for so many reasons. BUT they actually then go into a super cycle of having more pups. The bad thing is, there usually aren't the older coyotes around to teach the ways and animals lose normal behaviors. Also with all of the extreme weather and fire events, habitat loss affects the entire food chain. There must be a logical conclusion of why these coyotes are attacking people, especially if they're not rabid!
