Unless this child is sickly then why should it matter if this parent wants to get vaccinated or not? If the child is sickly and has a even greater risk of damage from covid then she needs to get vaccinated but if the child is perfectly healthy then it's her choice. With them talking about needing boosters every 8 months to now trying to change it down to 5 months your gonna see alot of people who got vaccinated at first possibly not want a booster especially younger people 30 an under who are already mind you barely getting vaccinated. You're going to have an even harder time getting the unvaccinated to get vaccinated. You take their children, their civil liberties an whatever else you're going to get push back. In deep red states if these kind of things happen you're gonna start seeing many pro 2A rednecks exercising their 2A rights.

PFC (Join to see) let's say the mom gets covid and passes it to her child with the end result being the child dies. Should the mother be held responsible? https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/national-international/ella-foster-faith-healing-death/29977/

1SG (Join to see) I have no opinion because with how easy covid is to spread it could have been the mother or a friend of the family. Even if she was vaccinated there is a small chance that the mother could experience a break through infection and still get the child Infected. Until children themselves are able to be vaccinated it's an unknown. The parents could do the right thing and become vaccinated the whole household could be vaccinated but if a child interacts with someone whose asymptomatic they can become infected an become sick until they themselves are vaccinated. I belive every parent should vaccinate their children even if they themselves don't want to be.

PFC (Join to see) it is one thing to protect the child from others. It is quite another to protect them from their own parents. In this case you protect the child from the immediate potential threat which unfortunately is a parent with visitation rights.

1SG (Join to see) I'm just going to agree to disagree on the this when it comes to vaccination against covid. If you an I are both vaccinated but are kids arent an they go out for a game with the neighborhood kids an they catch covid you have no idea where or how the infection came to be. In principal the covid vaccines act similar to flu vaccines. Both are meant to prevent death and easy symptoms not prevent infection. You or I can go anywhere at anytime and contract covid even with all the prevention in place in theory. If a parent wants to keep another parent away from a child because the other isn't vaccinated they have that right through the courts. No matter what everyone does or where everyone goes catching covid symptomatic or asymptomaticaly is still possible. This isn't going away. When I was a kid our parents use to throw chicken pox parties so we were all exposed to it so we didn't have to worry about getting it as an adult. I'm sure to some that's highly stupid but to others it isn't.

This, and anyone who agrees with this, is ridiculous. This is a complete overstepping by the judge. Is there a law in Illinois that says parents must be vaccinated? If not, how can you punish someone for it? I don't care what your personal thoughts are on the vaccine. That's irrelevant. Courts should follow the law.

And if they can suspend custody for parents that aren't vaccinated, due to "endangering the child", then parents that teach their children that they can be any gender they want should meet the same fate. Because apparently the judge can just decide what is and isn't harmful.
