You're right. Him in uniform left an impression both positive and negative. At end of day, consequences remain the same. His words should be stronger than his appearance otherwise perhaps his words had no meaning at all.

Now instead of criticizing him and the calculated actions that he took you should be turning your attention to what he brought up. He knew what was going to happen and had the balls to do it. His words were impactful they were just punctuated by doing in uniform.

His words were meaningful regardless of the uniform. The notion you and he believe the uniform adds more weight is ignorance. A combat veteran no longer wearing the uniform saying the words from the heart would have just as much impact with open minded people. But whatever, no sympathy for the consequences he faces or your criticism of my opinion. Thanks.

MAJ James Woods again you fail to understand he is not asking for sympathy for his actions. He is fully aware of the consequences. It does nothing to add weight it punctuated because without it would have never garnered the attention that it has. Many combat veterans have made such statements and none have garnered the same attention. One other thing his Marines will follow him to hell and back.
