All politics aside, I have long believed that ANYONE who holds the position of Commander-in-Chief should have military service/experience in a command position before taking office. Look at it this way-- if you were applying for a higher paying job and had no experience doing what is required for that job, would you be hired..??? Even as a person that normally votes for Democrats, this makes a lot of sense to me..

I can't say that I would disagree with that. Being a leader of the most powerful country in the world comes with great responsibility. Something I don't think really any one individual can truly be prepared for, that is why they have so many advisors. It take a huge team to lead this country, not anyone man or woman can do it alone, God knows I certainly wouldn't want to try.

I agree. I actually think we all should serve in the military for at least a few years. I think everyone would truly understand what is going on better and we might have better politicians from it.

Nobody expected the country to fold in two weeks. That is the crux of the matter.

Your right sir. I have don't have the field training manuals nor the extensive training you have. Maybe your right in that I haven't a clue. I don't argue that, but you have still not offered a shred of foresight to argue my points other than to say that I know nothing. I simply want your thoughts on the matter. Here the facts. We know that the taliban was making active aggressive moves months ago. We know that Itell was given about this aggression. We also know that the president did nothing with that intel. We know that the president disregarded Trump's plan on a successful evacuation to include removing bureau he created that dealt with this matter specifically. We now now that because of the lack of leadership we are stuck in this situation that clearly could have been avoided. I may not have the credentials, education or even military experience like you do Sir, but this is common sense. Our president dropped the ball, and now innocent lives will die because of it. Sacrifices made are lost because of it, Trillions of dollars wasted because of it. An 8th grade student could deduct as much. I don't know why you take so much offense to all of this. My thoughts are not my own many Americans share the same line of thinking, and from what I have found these thoughts are to be factual the trustworthy. I welcome you to convince me otherwise.

Well saying I missed the point and you have superior common sense to understand winning the war is not asking me for my thoughts. This is my last response to you. I am wasting my time. CPL Adam Schoenwald

MAJ Ken Landgren - My apologies sir, I didn't answer your question. once more what is a winning strategy in Afghanistan? " Sir because of the current situation, it is not a simple one. I have neither the education to lead battle situations nor the confidence to so. But from a lowly E-4 perspective sir, the first thing I would do is get that air base back. Put 250,000 troops on the ground while sending taliban leaders straight to hell with special operators. Get our people and allies home, and let the dust settle where it may, I hate that we went from killing bad guys to nation building, but we started it, now we have to finish it. That's what I would do sir. Silly, stupid most likely from your perspective, probably even dumb. But sir that is how I do it if I were in the command seat.....again thank you for your time. I appreciate the opportunity.
