I've said it before, and I'll say it again: this is racist. Not only does it first require the presupposition that minorities are unable to perform at the same level as white students--which is disgusting in and of itself--but it effectively cripples an entire generation of minority students who aren't pushed to meet these basic standards. But the detrimental effects of such policies don't end there. This will effectively cripple all students who required the push to learn these basic skills, making them almost completely unemployable, for they will be incapable of performing the lowest level tasks. Many of these students will be forced into back-breaking labor because they can do nothing else. And for those who find themselves accepted to any number of universities for which no GPA or SAT/ACT score is necessary, they will spend years failing courses while going tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt. And on the off-chance they are likewise shuffled through the college system and somehow end up with a degree on the other side, they will quickly be found inept at their first real job, fired, and relegated right back to the very back-breaking labor for which they were solely suited, and all of this will be because the public school system and such inane policies failed them terribly.

Outstanding analysis SGT Joseph Gunderson and one that I agree with. As a former teacher, we need technical proficiency in this nation to continue to compete with other nations who are placing a much higher emphasis on learning basic and technical skills.

“…without having to take tests to prove that they meet basic learning requirements under the argument of achieving a more ‘inclusive’ and ‘equitable’ education.”
That fragment from Governor Kate Brown says it all: That nugget is Cultural Marxisism 101. Steal the Language. Let two words stew in your mind for a few moments… ‘inclusive’ and ‘equitable’ education.
What Education? A student without STEM [demonstratable] skills is doomed until they are achieved.
Gold Stars for everyone, failure to reward achievement and making everyone inclusively and equitably feeling temporally good about themselves is not education.
Showing-Up is an important 1st step. To actually get anywhere we must learn to walk, run, perform and when we do well in a race receive just award. Make no Mistake… It’s a race.

You owe those family members all the help you can give them to escape from that lunatic asylum and find freedom somewhere else.
