We are horrible custodians of the environment, lands, and waters. Some parts of the US will lack water for people if they keep following the current trajectory. More species are becoming endangered. Trees are being cut down which causes erosion and muddies up rivers and lakes. Forests and jungles are being cut down. Chemicals sprayed or spilt in the lands will find their course to the water ways. It's a shame what we are doing to the planet.

Despite Pledges to Cut Emissions, China Goes on a Coal Spree
China is building large numbers of coal-fired power plants to drive its post-pandemic economy. The government has promised a CO2 emissions peak by 2030, but the new coal binge jeopardizes both China’s decarbonization plans and global efforts to tackle climate change.

I read a similar article, it actually claimed that between China, India, Japan, Vietnam and a few other Asian countries that up to over 180 new coal fired power plants are in the planning stages to be built.
