It appears that the Afghani military that Biiden keep touting isn't doing to hot. From reports I've read, they're too busy running away to fight the Taliban as they take back over the country.

SPC Robert Conway - Not sure. Maybe lessons from Vietnam. We left when their military had no hope of fighting off the North and that didn't turn out so well there for awhile.

Sgt (Join to see) What lesson from Vietnam? The war crimes or the complete ignorance of the situation that existed on the ground created by some delusional need to "win" an unwinnable war?

SPC Robert Conway - We won the battles, so how did we not win the war? Same thing in Afghanistan. We won the battles but have lost the war.

SPC Robert Conway - Interestingly enough, Vietnam is pretty US friendly these days. Despite us pulling out, despite our then enemies taking over the South, despite our abandonment of the South itself. Almost fifty years in, neither side seems to harbor any ill will.
