Glad to hear that, I maintained a Connecticut driver license and registration the entire time I was in the military and that wasn't available.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - it's free too. unfortunately, the Veteran's license plates are not. i guess they are classified as "vanity plates" so there is an extra fee attached.

Our state has such a designation on our licenses. I have one. I have never used any of my benefits as a veteran and hope not to need to. I got it out of pride of having served.....

SrA John Monette - my thought process is pretty simple really. I am fortunate at my age to still be able to work fulltime for a health care company that owns an insurance company. There are veterans out there who don't have that advantage. I would hate to take up time from someone who needs the VA more than I do. I want all veterans to use their benefits. I don't want to get in the way of that. If my situation changes, I will be there with everyone else

The process for this is super painless in Virginia. They used to have a veteran's ID card but now they just have the "VETERAN" designation. Highly recommend.

Ya I looked up the FL requirement after seeing this. Just have to show up with a DD-214, they don't even charge for adding the designation.
