Hundreds of unmarked graves have been discovered at the site of a former residential school for indigenous children in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Just a few weeks ago a similar discovery was made - the remains of 215 indigenous children were found at the former Kamloops Indian residential School in British Colombia.
Tamara Starblanket is from the University of Saskatchewan, and co-chair of the North American Indigenous Peoples' Caucus. She is the author of Suffer the Little Children: Genocide, Indigenous Nations and the Canadian State.
She told Newsday: “These are crimes of genocide. 127 years and counting and the Canadian state has forcibly transferred children from their nations into residential schools and now currently the child welfare system. The forcible transfer continues today."

hopefully, the PM will acknowledge that it IS genocide. it's way past time for our government to do the same. if anyone deserves reparations, it is the Native American nations
