It is my firm religious belief that abortion is wrong. That is my religious belief. I don’t want my government making laws based on my religious beliefs. I want my government to stay out of my church and my church to stay out of my government.

I do not support abortion as a method of birth control. I would rather see them take steps BEFORE conception (sex education, condoms, IUD, spermicides, birth control meds, all the above, etc). I realize sometimes unwanted pregnancy occurs no matter what precaution a person takes (abstinence really isn't a feasible option). And prevention is just as much a man's responsibility (maybe moreso) than a woman's. As a medical provider myself, I can not justify knowingly ending what should progress into a viable life.
Now, that being said.... I would rather see a woman have unrestricted access to proper medical care at a licensed, inspected, and monitored (for safety, sterilization, etc) facility with properly trained and licensed providers than having to resort to some back alley hack job with a rusty coat hanger somewhere. Pandora's Box has already been opened and we would do well to leave things alone.
