Several transgender athletes from around the world are vying to make history starting next month at the Tokyo Olympics. Here & Now's Tonya Mosley talks with Cyd Zeigler, an LGBTQ sports writer and co-founder of Outsports, who has been tracking them all.

Professional runner Nikki Hiltz of California had been openly gay for years but recently decided to share another truth that they are transgender and nonbinary.

The 26-year-old is also hoping to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics and will compete in the women's 1500-meters event at the U.S. Track and Field trials starting Friday in Eugene, Oregon.
