Johnny & Jugnu: Fast food staff arrested for not giving police free burgers

All 19 workers at a fast food restaurant in Pakistan were detained after refusing to give a group of police officers free burgers last week.
Staff at the chain Johnny & Jugnu in Lahore were rounded up at 0100 (2000 GMT) on Saturday and held overnight.
"This is not the first time something like this has happened... at our restaurant," a statement by the burger chain said.
Nine police officers involved in the incident have now been suspended.
Senior provincial police official Inam Ghani announced the suspensions on Twitter, saying: "No one is allowed to take the law into his own hands. Injustice will not be tolerated. All of them will be punished."
In a statement posted on Facebook, Johnny & Jugnu said a group of police officers had gone to the restaurant two days before the incident and asked for free burgers.

SPC Paul Shene III - There are more of us that do the right thing than not but like I said its the few that makes us all look bad and the bad stuff doesn't always make its way through. You go ahead and drop your application cause we need good officers out there but until you've wore mine or any other officers shoes you gotta quit quarter backing the game from the couch. so SPC if you got the kahonis to do the job then come drop your application and show me you can do the job show me how NY tough you really are until the your quarter backing from the couch. Like I said there are more of us that are good and really do give a rats ass

SSG Byron Hewett - And those officers that do care and show it I support fully. My last interaction with the local police ended positively, and no force was applied to anyone. No arrest had to be made. The officer found the owner of the vehicle who parked on my property, and that person moved it voluntarily. No hostility involved. I'm also a little too OLD to be a rookie police officer. 30 years ago I seriously considered and filled out the application to be a reserve police officer. Law enforcement is a needed profession, we just need to get better professionals to fill in the hole left by terminating the racists that abuse the profession.
Any police corruption anywhere globally should be vigorously denounced by the good police officers defending their reputation.
