New Device Taps Brain Signals To Help Stroke Patients Regain Hand Function

People recovering from a stroke will soon have access to a device that can help restore a disabled hand.
The Food And Drug Administration has authorized a device called IpsiHand, which uses signals from the uninjured side of a patient's brain to help rewire circuits controlling the hand, wrist and arm.
The device can be used at home and offers stroke patients "an additional treatment option to help them move their hands and arms again," said Dr. Christopher Loftus of the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health in a statement.
IpsiHand's authorization comes after the FDA reviewed results on patients like Mark Forrest, who had a stroke in 2015.
"We called 911 and off to the hospital I went," Forrest, who lives near St. Louis with his wife, Patti. "By the time I got there most of my right side was paralyzed."
After six months of rehabilitation, Forrest was walking again, but still had little control over his right hand. He struggled to pull on socks and button shirts.

Republicans? I can't fathom someone who took the oath that we did would support what is going on caused by, scripted by and being enacted by the Democrats. You either don't care about the oath you took or plainly aren't a man of your word. Maybe it's just an ignorance because you've never read the entire Constitution including all of the amendments clarifying those rights you swore to protect. Would you be one of the traitors to the Constitution that would show up on someone's door step to confiscate guns, or would you follow your oath and refuse to follow an order in direct violation of the 2nd amendment?

SPC Marvin Darling - that all depends on whose interpretation of the 2nd you are talking about. i believe in every word of the oath i took when i enlisted and the oath that i took when i went into civilian federal employ. i don't see anything being done by the democrats that is nearly as bad as what the orange man tried to do

Interpretation of the 2nd Amendment? It's in plain English, what is to interpret? let's break this down for you.. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State (simply put by definition a militia is a volunteer defense force made up of civilians, think and research what they called Minutemen), The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed (simply put it's our God given right to have guns to hunt, protect ourselves property and family and carry a gun 24/7 if we see fit to do so). This amendment does not pertain to a Governmental Military. If you think any part of the Constitution needs to be interpreted you've already failed to follow your oath. By the way how are those gas prices where you are? Because I'm wishing that those "Orange man" under $1.90 a gallon were still here, as well as those stock market prices. Retirement funds were at an all time high, now they have dropped to unsubstantiated lows. Another subject you probably have little knowledge of. How about the fact that it's the Democrats that want the National anthem removed from sporting events? How about the disrespect of our flag by Democrats and their followers? Are those ok with you? Your oath means nothing, because your word means nothing.

SPC Marvin Darling - the "well-regulated militia" is NOT a volunteer defense force. it is a state organization for the defense of the state. it is not a right to carry whatever type of firearm/gun you want. it is NOT a God-given right. God did not write the Constitution. about those gas prices, ever wonder why they were so low last year? because hardly anybody could go anywhere. simple supply and demand. MY retirement fund is doing very well. never heard a single word about anyone wanting to remove the National Anthem from any event. disrespecting the flag or any other symbol is covered under the 1st Amendment. yes, that includes burning it. my word is my oath. just because you refuse to acknowledge the damage the orange man did doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I recall hearing something like this back in the late 80's or early 90's. I wonder if this is a report on how far it has come since then, or a continuation of the research.
