The one branch of government that has stood fast in the face of political lying, an attempted coup and the general attempt to tell the "big lie" has been the judiciary. It really brings into focus why one of the first things to go when an authoritarian government takes over is the current supreme court and a lot of the lower courts to replace them with stooges. Normally, the judiciary's loyalty tends to be to the law and not to political leaders.
