Some people will be very upset about the history that they learned being trampled. For myself I never needed us to be good to the point of turning it into a fairy tale.Many Americans think we are super heroes who can swoop down on evil doers.
Blacks fought against us in the Revolution because the British would free them. I can’t blame them for that but it stuck right into the Civil War. The thought that blacks might take up arms against them was fearsome. Actually the British only used them for manual labor and abandoned them when they left.
Life goes on, we have about worn the current surge out
