I hope that you are content with your circumstances and progress in life and yet striving to improve. I expect that you are honest, trustworthy, and you display moral courage as you stand up for other people who are susceptible to being taken advantage of. No doubt many have recognized your ability to be calm and rational in facing unforeseen problems and issues. I hope that you and I are inspiring to those who depend upon us as we lead them to achieve fulfilling their hopes and dreams. 'But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.' [1 Timothy 6:6-8 ESV] my brother-in-Christ COL Mikel J. Burroughs
I pray that each adopted son and daughter of YOURS who reads or listens to this prayer is content with our station and status in life by God’s grace. Enable us to think before we speak and to never utter deceptive promises we will not fulfill especially to our spouse or children. YOU always fulfil YOUR promises as YOU fulfil YOUR Word to each and every generation of humanity. Our children are entrusted to us to raise up in the admonition of the LORD. ‘Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. ' [Ephesians 6:1- ESV]
Thank you, LORD for healing each adopted son and daughter of all our sins, past, present and future and fully justifying us for the death penalty for sin. YOUR atonement on the cross heals each of YOUR elect from all sin and the penalty for time and eternity. ‘But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. [Isaiah 53:5-6 ESV]
I pray for discernment, great listening abilities, sufficient sustenance and rest for each deployed service member, dear LORD, for missions against enemy forces as well operations to take down the terrorist networks. I pray that YOU enable and motivate the deployed service members to write letters to their family – especially for spouses and young children. I pray for safety, security and good health for each of the family members of the deployed service members. I pray that family members of missing in action have true friends who stand up when called to and offer support whether asked for or not. I pray that the young children of deployed service members are reassured about their deployed parent and that nobody insults their parent within earshot or on TV. ‘standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction’ [Philippians 1:27b-28a, ESV]
I lift the mentally ill, the emotionally distraught, the manic, the severely depressed, those suffering from PTSD and TBI as well as each who loves them, cares for and treats them to YOU. I pray for a peaceful and hopeful nature for each of the suicidal and homicidal tonight individuals tonight. Give them peace LORD and lead them away from this chosen path. ‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.’ [Psalm 51:10-12 ESV]
I pray that each adopted child who reads or listens to this prayer has a very large measure of gratefulness for eternal life based on the LORD Jesus the Christ atonement.
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Great photo of old soldiers. If you ever make to New England, let me know. I would love to meet you in the flesh. I had three funerals over the weekend, Memorial Day Program, 2 funerals yesterday and 2 today. This is always a busy time with burials delayed due to winter. I am attached to the Air Force Honor Guard and when they are short handed (6 funerals yesterday), they call me out because I am uniformed so can fold with one USAF Honor Guard and sound Taps while they present. It is great being considered useful by young troops.

Good “R.E.D Friday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the overcast and windy skies of the Greater Boston Area! On this Friday, I am “Remembering Everyone Deployed” until they are all home once again!
Today’s is: “Content Day!” Why Not?
"True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have." - Oscar Wilde
"I greet every new day with the words, 'Thank you, thank you, thank you.' That's the state of mind that directs me, fulfills me, and sends me out into the world with a gift to share. It's a blessing that I have learned over a lifetime - to experience the presence of Spirit in most of my waking moments. It's a feeling of contentment and satisfaction, of peace and love." - Wayne Dyer
"Contentment is one of the most distinguishing traits of the godly person, because a godly person has his heart focused on God rather than on possessions or position or power.
Jerry Bridges
"Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship." - Gautama Buddha
“I won’t be content as a leader for second best or for a mission that is not completed to the best of my ability. I will not be content until all healthcare debt is abolished for veterans and their families – are you with me?" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
