There are too many strategic paradigms at play to determine how the dust will settle. It will be a civil war. I don’t know if there is unity of command in the Taliban. Mao said he could create followers with honey or bullets. I think an important variable is how large can the Taliban fighting force become?
I get the impression the Taliban are the hard liners and the regular people are stuck with the Taliban. It’s also proving time for the Afghan military.
If I was the Taliban I would increase attacks and retreat if I have to, but I will be back. I will try to grow the Taliban fighting force for larger operations. If I have the forces I would use asymmetric and conventional tactics at the same time.
If I had 5 minutes to prepare to brief, that is what I would brief. lol
