If it survives the landing...note the following:
The rover's power generator (MMRTG) has a mass of 45 kilograms (99 lb) and uses 4.8 kilograms (11 lb) of plutonium dioxide as the source of steady supply of heat that is converted to electricity. The electrical power generated is approximately 110 watts at launch with little decrease over the mission time. Two lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are included to meet peak demands[clarification needed] of rover activities when the demand temporarily exceeds the MMRTG's steady electrical output levels. The MMRTG offers a 14-year operational lifetime, and it was provided to NASA by the US Department of Energy. Unlike solar panels, the MMRTG provides engineers with significant flexibility in operating the rover's instruments even at night and during dust storms, and through the winter season.

Sgt (Join to see) 14 years! We should receive lots of valuable data from the mission. Thanks Kerry.

Sgt (Join to see) - Electric motors draw more than their rated run current when they are first energized. It drops off as the motor starts to generate back EMF, until it reaches its rated running current.

Probably the most important Rover sent to Mars... as it is the largest, and the most sophisticated, with the most equipment complement, including a 'Helicopter' to test whether there is enough atmosphere to support helo flight, which, if it works, will provide great insight to the Rover about hazards to avoid way ahead of time, considering there is an 11 minute delay in telemetry from Earth...

Sgt (Join to see) - The 11 minutes is the operative factor with the landing, that thing is on its own once it hits the upper atmosphere. This is one mission I would really like to see go off without a hitch or glitch. I always feel that way, but the stakes are higher than usual on this one.
