Social programs work from some and not for others. Many other factors have been causing people to leave California other than government but that plays a big part in the reasoning.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand actually you're right and wrong at the same time. The liberalism at it's core is good because it wants to identify the problems and try to fix them but can not. The liberal politicians have created inadequate programs that they refuse to look at and fix however say the issue is homeless drugs ect so they keep raising the taxes. The tax hikes keep driving up rents and mortgages as a way to generate more revenue and despite raising taxes they are creating inadequate living conditions thus killing off their tax base. If you look at where your programs are and aren't working you'd be able to fix them. Regulation is causing many cooperations to leave site Tesla and musk who is relocating from Anaheim to Austin because of too much regualtion and oversight that's not a capitalism issue just a policy one. I'm socio-capitalist, I belive you can use the principles of capitalism for a better social outcome.

PFC (Join to see) - I'll give you a 'UP' for overall on your statement. However, CA CAN raise taxes for what the people ACTUALLY get paid out there. I said my grand daughter lives there so I get a lot of first hand accounts from her. She likes the social and medical programs out there. Now you can balance that against states like Florida or Alabama that have no or hardly any taxes or social programs. I'll also tell you from recent personal experience that you don't want to get sick in either of those states. And then there is Texas which JUST KILLED 120 PEOPLE BECAUSE IT GOT COLD. COLD??? So, talk abut killing off your tax base. So, I see states like California as trying to take care of their people instead of ignoring them for business. And don't forget that California is the 6th largest economy in the world. Enough of my rant. I do find your comments very refreshing, informed, and open minded compared to many on here.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand You can try to tax on capital gains/stocks/ dividends all you want and set market tax rates up to 20%. Im just giving a fugitive percentage. By raising everything so unrealistically high; you're only crushing businesses small to medium sized who can't afford to pay or perhaps can't pay all while you're big cooperations and most affluent will just close up shop and sell assets they have in California to go other places. Instead of "white flight" you'll have rich flight. You're seeing it unfold now in NYC. The city is trying to get its affluent tax base back but can't. We shall see what comes to pass.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand - Rallypoint is not the place for personal attacks. If you disagree with a perspective, make a rational case against it. Be an adult. Practice mutual respect.
