I find it funny interesting that the reason for the constitutional prohibition against statehood for DC seems to be completely ignored by the Democrats and their supporters. A little history might help. Seems some soldiers rebelled in 1783 and held the state legislature of Massachusetts hostage. Finally things worked out but the writers of the Constitution did not want the seat of the Federal Government under the control of a state Government. We watched the harassment Trump went through from state Governments and even mayors. BLM signs were painted in front of his hotels etc. federal laws were ignored, rioting has been tolerated in Portland Oregon for a year with Federal buildings under constant assault. Suppose the Governor of DC issued travel restrictions requiring a 2 week quarantine if you leave the State of DC ? Of course the only response Democrats have is DC isn’t a State because of racism. I believe their are far deeper issues.
