Gas on the Front: Second Battle of Ypres

On April 22, 1915, the Second Battle of Ypres began on the Western Front in WW I. It was the first use of poisonous gas (employed by the Germans). The Second Battle of Ypres was also the battlefield where Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, composed the famous poem "In Flanders Fields".
