80% is a little steep, i think maybe 65% is more realistic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but how will 80% receive the vaccine when its not yet mandatory? From my limited anecdotal data it seems like a portion of soldiers don't want the vaccine and won't get it unless it becomes mandatory.

From the article: "Before the surge of available shots, the Army didn’t have enough to inject the number of people who needed one, he said.

The increase in vaccinations goes beyond divvying up doses. The surgeon general added that undecided Soldiers have become more confident in vaccine safety, thanks to leaders relaying science-backed information."

"To date, the Army has administered nearly 700,000 doses and roughly 67% of those recipients have been fully vaccinated, said Maj. Gen. Jill Faris, interim deputy chief of staff for operations at MEDCOM, during a press conference last week. Those numbers include people from previous tiers in the schema who have reconsidered not getting vaccinated."

When I went in for the first Pfizer shot - that place was packed with Soldiers and civilians alike. The second time was much quicker.

It's either soldiers are educating themselves on the vaccine OR I have heard rumors that there are units who are telling soldiers that they can't take leave without being vaccinated or things like that. Almost a back alley way of volun-telling them. But I don't know for sure. I haven't seen it in person. Just things I've heard around.

But of anyone offered it in my unit so far, everyone is taking it. I did it when offered because sooner or later I have to get it and I researched it.
