Ministry Shorts 24: Why is Confession So Hard!?
1 John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
James 5:16 MEV
Confess your faults to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.
James 5:7-9 MEV
Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Notice how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until he receives the early and late rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is drawing near. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers, lest you be condemned. Look, the Judge is standing at the door.
John 15:5-6,9-10 MEV
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who remains in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit. For without Me you can do nothing. 6 If a man does not remain in Me, he is thrown out as a branch and withers. And they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
9 “As the Father loved Me, I also loved you. Remain in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.
No public confession - embarrassment - being judged by others
My father in the faith is who I turn to if personal confession is not working.
Normally, as soon as sin becomes obvious I turn to the Lord for forgiveness and know that I have what I ask for.
I fellowship with the Father many times throughout the day and when I find a lack of understanding I turn to Him in prayer for the answer.
