I do not believe there is a soul alive today who was a slave. Or a soldier or even a military member in the U.S. that advocates slavery in any form. This is Big Army with their head up their ass again.

It's a sad fact that the Confederate Battle Flag was conscripted by the KKK as a symbol. As a Pennsylvanian who has always had an affinity for Gettysburg and the battles there, I never viewed the event in any racial terms. In fact, I had a 1967 red Camaro SS and had a Confederate Battle Flag license plate on the front, simply because it "looked cool." I lived in a black area when I was in the Navy in subsidized housing. There were only three white families in the whole complex and NEVER did any person, white or black, suggest that the plate on my car was racist.
While the KKK was/is a racist organization, the Battle Flag is imply that - a battle flag! All this handwringing over bases named after Confederate Generals is hogwash. As I believe Morgan Freeman said, "If you want to end racism, STOP talking about it!" He didn't say it shouldn't be addressed, but talking about it only stirs the pot. That pot today is stirred by politicians and so-called black leaders like Al Sharpton only because they PANDER to people and want to INCITE anger.

SSG Bill McCoy - People and I use the term People as in Civilians do not understand things are named in Honor of Generals because of their great tactical ability or leadership ability even both. They were American General's. If you have a fight with your bother that comes to blows as we did in the U.S during 1860. Do you not ever let them back in your home or you in theirs. That's what these true racists are doing with our history by erasing it or doing this WOKE crap. Its our history some of us may not like it but it is fact. Germany did not go into grave yards and dig up Nazis that are buried or erase history. No you cannot go around with Nazi flags or use certain words but ok they did not get rid of the concentration camps. I don't understand this stuff.

Really, it's going to take them 2+ years to come up with 10 names, while on the Gov't's dime?
What about using the names of the posts that have been closed during the last 30 years. Ft Ord LA?
