A new type of Gator may be coming to the Navy. Looks interesting and almost a Large Landing Craft, not just a small Gator. At 200 feet long with a Navy crew of 40 and carrying 75 Marines, it is more like a boat than a ship.

HMMM. A WWII LST could carry over 200 troops and deposit them right on a beach. I think we should wait on this until whatever type of new amphibian landing vehicle is picked for the marines. Anyway, it would take 2 of these new ships, with a group of 80 to crew both of them, to land one marine company.
