Some street gangs are white supremacist. Here is an NPR story from last year of one Soldier who was a gang member and got arrested for attempting to pass off sensitive information about his own unit

Gang activity was rampant at Ft. Lewis in the mid 70’s. The Hispanics had their low riders and causing major problems around the community outside the base. The Base Commander eventually broke them up and sent them all to separate bases through out the army and world.
