Army ups incentive for soldiers to move themselves as service faces busy PCS season

Did a DITY once -- and that was more than enough to seal the deal to never do it again for my family.

Move yourself. I am still dealing with the nightmare of my first ever partial DITY. Shipper tried to move 2 at once and only transported half of my household goods. Couldn’t tell me when another truck would be available for the remainder of the items. It’s been nearly 1 month since the “drop dead” date for having all of my things and still no resolve. There is an inconvenience process for out of pocket reimbursements but they didn’t tell us to keep all receipts if you are inconvenienced beyond 7 days. 8 self moves with no issue. What was I thinking.
