Much time has been sent checking in on the Perseverance Rover, but the Curiosity Rover as well as the Insight Lander are doing there planned tasks on a regular basis... In this video sequence we are seeing the insight lander perform soil capture and seismometer "Planting" (as I call it). Remember, that when NASA sends a command signal to do a certain task, it takes a period of time for the command to reach the Insight Lander, execute the command and sent the data back... Communications just doesn't happen in real time like on Earth...
This is what NASA has stated:
"On March 15, 2021 NASA revealed video of InSight Lander’s digging Mars surface to calibrate seismometer and register Martian Clouds and Wind. NASA's InSight used its Instrument Context Camera (ICC) beneath the lander's deck to image these drifting clouds at sunset. The InSight mission seeks to uncover how a rocky body forms and evolves to become a planet by investigating the interior structure and composition of Mars. The mission will also determine the rate of Martian tectonic activity and meteorite impacts. How powerful and frequent internal seismic activity is on Mars, and where it is located within the structure of the planet? These questions are general for InSight Lander mission from NASA." This video provides some concrete steps in Insights assigned tasks...
I hope you enjoy it,
