I like your article and I like the purpose of your blog, SGT (Join to see) Nicely done! Like you, I received little, if any formal orientation on unit awards, or any individual awards or other items of wear on the uniform for that matter. Fortunately, I served as an OCS tactical (training) officer and as a detailed inspector general. I had to learn a lot about the wear of the uniform and like you, I developed a personal interest in the subject.
Also like you, I initially learned that the "Wheat grows up, not down". I later learned that they’re actually laurel leaves, not wheat sheaves!
