All rights are equal. Each right carries with it an obligation to not infringe upon others when we exercise it. So in the end all rights should be protected equally.

I usually try and avoid discussions on religion like the plague. Just so that there is understanding, My faith lies in Jesus Christ and the Bible, I come from a background that led me to Bible study that rivals friends with Doctorates in theology, so I know what the Bible says without it being tainted by someone else opinion or agenda. The reason I for that preface in a minute.

Every time someone talks about "religious freedom" it turns my stomach. The reason is that typically it's a narrow minded zealot that's usually talking about freedom for THEIR religious beliefs, and they aren't considering that that opens up the floodgates for every other religion to do what they believe too.

The reason for my above preface is that usually when I say something like I did above it results in an attack from people who believe the same things I do! I'm disgusted that Christians feel they need to fight a "spiritual battle" like a boxer that only knows how to through a roundhouse right. It's all a frontal assault and ignore the flank.

You want to know why I don't support prayer in school? Because the idea of every kid in school being subjected to the Muslim call to prayer played over the loud speaker every few hours appalls me. That's not meant as an insult to Islam... I don't want kids subjected to ABBA 5 times a day either.

Ask me about using the Bible as a guideline when writing laws and I'll point to Sharia law.

Talk to me about "our country was founded on belief in the Bible" and I'm compelled to point out that our roots come from Protestants vs Church of England.

Now the video doesn't point out one particular religion. For all I know the professor might be a Buddhist, but he does strongly suggest that all morality stems from religious beliefs, and that is a load of crap. I know plenty of people claim to be Christian and then can't even manage an honest business transaction, ask a small business owner if he likes working with a church, many of the ones I know refuse to because when it comes time to pay the bill they're expected to donate their service. Ask a waitress how the tips are on a Sunday afternoon after Church.

If Jesus were here he would be flipping tables and chasing Christians around with a whip (Matthew 21, Mark 11, Luke 19, John 2 - I don't cite verses, read the whole chapter).

Oh, and in case someone reading this wants to say "morality is going down the tubes and faith is under attack" I suggest studying history. There are more Christians now than there ever were. We're winning... time to start living "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:17), when I find myself sitting in condemnation I have to ask myself "Am I saying that I'm more qualified than God?!".

Food for thought... I could go on and on, but I'm sure I've probably insulted everyone enough.

Can't help but think it would be a kinder, gentler world if student were made to listen to Dancing Queen five times a day. ;)

in 1775 it was illegal for Catholics to hold public office in America.
It was illegal for Catholics to hole public office in England until 1802.
Christians have been bashing each other over the head (and anyone else close by) with their schisms since the schisms formed. East vs West Orthodox, Catholic vs Reformation, P.rotestants against everything else.
