I am up later than usual and as I was perusing potential videos and images, I found that NASA had been testing the Perseverance ROver's Robotic Arm before obtaining its first Mars samples... What is so striking is the overall clarity of the images taken by other cameras onboard Perseverance... Here is what the video's write up conveyed:
"On March 8, 2021 NASA’s Mars' new images made by Rover Perseverance while testing Robotic Arm to get samples of Mars making Sample Collection. One of the aims of Perseverance is getting sample of Mars’ stones to analyze microbiological structure of it to understand if there were life there in the past. it will seek signs of past microbial life and characterize the planet's climate and geology. It is the first rover ever to carry a drill for coring samples from Martian rocks and soil. Samples will be safely stowed on Mars for potential future pickup and return to Earth by another mission."
