In the 1980 movie Airplane, Pilot Robert Stack is confronted by those annoying people at the airport asking for donations. One of the last ones he beat up is 'for nuclear power'.
Nuclear power is hated even though it's the best aside from natural gas but nobody wants to store the waste and even Senator Harry Reid made sure that a $10 billion dollar nuclear depository in Yucca mountain Nevada is never going to be open.
We have very little wind and Solar powered energy in Alberta. Alberta still uses coal. It can be between 10 to 30 below zero Fahrenheit in Canada and the power grid is sufficient to handle the load.
