Wonderful bit of history. Being able to use negatives that have been cold stored requires both knowledge and patience. Storing them in an environment where not only temperature but also humidity levels are controlled is critical. If done right you get the results we saw in the article. If done incorrectly like allowing them to warm in a humid environment or warming up too quickly can ruin them for duplication. Restoring them to a refrigerated state also requires patience as they get acclimated to the colder environment again. Acclimation can take days to weeks depending on the number of negatives being returned to refrigeration
