TONIGHT’s Topic: “Sadie's Place for Veterans' Arts (SPVA)!”
Diane’s BIO
Burnt-out from office work at the age of 48, Diane Baren left her job as a university payroll and Human Resources administrator and set out to build a campus of small businesses and art studios owned and operated by Veterans. Diane's vision for Sadie's Place for Veterans' Arts is vivid. At SPVA Veterans will partner with experts to reach their goals after service. Skills for life, developed in fellowship with other Vets and civilians.
Businesses will range from a tattoo studio to teams that design and construct outdoor fireplaces onsite across the US. At SPVA Vets can enjoy working in the food forest and learning culinary arts skills. A "school of rock" for Veterans, a recording studio, and performance space serve several purposes as business opportunities.
Hot studios where molten glass is blown into sculpture, and where metals are cast, provide therapeutic opportunities reflecting the heat of war. At the zero-entry dog splash-park Vets with varying levels of mobility may enjoy the freedom of cool waters, in fellowship. Caregivers can receive respite on-site while Veterans buddy-up and care for their loved-one.
Over a 30-year period Diane has started micro-businesses and also work ed as an employee of several companies, large and small. The last 20 years has been focused on Human Resources administration and continuing education. With a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Diane is both formally trained in the elements and principles of design and self-taught in varied forms of art. Series she has created include felted sculpture, pigment ink painting, American-made furnace cane glass jewelry, and others.
Starting a new chapter in life, Diane has connected with Victory for Veterans and Warriors for Life to bring Sadie's Place for Veterans' Arts to fruition.
Diane will be discussing the building a campus of small businesses and art studios owned and operated by US Military Veterans.
Tune in TONIGHT with the “Colonel” and special quest Diane Baren as we discuss “Sadie's Place for Veterans' Arts (SPVA)!”
