Griddy is a wholesale energy provider. You can get power at wholesale prices. But cost of power went from 60 bucks per megawatt to over 9000 per megawatt at wholesale. Government had nothing to do with it. Laws of supply and demand responsible for this.

SFC Melvin Brandenburg Let's say food companies create food unsafe to eat or is full of rats. Did the government have some responsibility for stopping that or is that the law of supply and demand at play?

Regulation is very much to control the parts of product production and pricing that do not provide reasonable outcomes with free market supply and demand.

SPC Kevin Ford supply and demand in energy markets are in effect. Regulation is no guarantee of a solution. For example, California is heavily regulated yet they are worse off than Texas.
