Veterans and AD not in uniform - do you render a salute during the NA and POA?

Since 2008, Vets have been authorized the right to salute during the national anthem, POA and Raising, Lowering of flag (https://www.amvetspa.com/85-when-to-salute-when-is-it-appropriate-to-use-the-military-salute-vs-hand-over-heart)
How many of you vets know this and/or practice it? I have always felt uncomfortable doing so, but it is completely authorized.
